You may have noticed by now that we don’t just work on our client’s projects; we like to develop our own projects as well. We believe this keeps our minds fresh and full of original ideas, allowing us to approach our client’s projects from a slightly different angle than we would if we were purely project-to-project web designers and developers. On top of that it’s fun!

One of our recent and most exciting projects is Filelux, an online storage facility that allows the user to open their files online; view images, play their songs and even play their videos, all online without the need to download and install software on their machine. We feel this, although not entirely original, is a neat little system thanks to it’s usability features, including the drag-and-drop capabilities, the bespoke media player, and the desktop appearance to name a few. We are developing a few additions to the system already that will give the users some great features that similar sites do not have.

This will hopefully provide small businesses and students with the flexibility they need, as well as provide the general public with a nifty little site where they can access their videos and music from anywhere they connect. We know we will be using it all the time.

We are launching the beta version over the New Year period, giving away free accounts to anyone who signs up. A free account gives 500GB of disk space per user, and the ability to upload files up to 400MB per file. Of course users are able to view and play all the media files you upload, and download them to whichever machine they connect from. We are also going to compliment our users with a free little video to watch! It’s just us messing around, but we hope you find it entertaining.
